Increasing team performance through workshop collaboration

Strive Group were recommended to a customer that wanted to increase the levels of co-operation and collaboration within a specific territory wide team who were experiencing some difficulties. They reached out to us to design a 2 day event that included learning and bonding. We designed an event that incorporated DISC behavioural assessment and team building with outstanding results.

Delegates completed an on-line DISC assessment prior to the event and everyone was provided with a personal 26-page report and workbook on commencement of the workshop. This interactive workbook and workshop gave them experiences and understanding of how and why they behave the way they do in certain situations such as appetite for risk, handling stress, quality tolerance and urgency. Experiencing these events (that included putting their hand in a mousetrap) with their colleagues and managers led to a whole new understanding of each other. At the same time, we profiled the team as a unit to understand the team dynamics and structure and highlight ways to optimise performance. This provided a clear focus on the shared vision, values and mission of the team.

The progress in the team was clear, even before the event was completed, with previous cliques and biases disappearing and new links and bonds being created between the delegates, all with a smile and new level of shared understanding. Subsequently, managers reported an incredible turnaround in team performance with a new high level of collaboration.
