The challenge

Acquired by Lumina Real Estate Capital and Leeds-based developer Citivale as joint venture, LC Industrial Humber Enterprise Park sits on the BAE site in Brough, which had been earmarked as a new enterprise zone. With BAE having played an integral role in providing employment to the local area for a long time, the new owners wanted to bring change to the Humber Enterprise Park and develop it into one of the prime industrial and office locations within the Hull and east Humber region.

what we did

With much heritage and community feeling associated with the site, the challenge for this mixed used site, with its rich and varied history was to maintain its relationship with local residents, whilst rejuvenating it to create an exciting ‘go-to’ destination for industrial and commercial businesses of all sizes. The aim being to create a distinctive, recognisable brand, incorporating both the heritage of the site and locale, whilst delivering it sensitively, maximising impact for minimal expenditure, as budget constraints were tight.

The site’s historic heritage formed the foundation for the new branding. It has a distinct art deco feel and promotes the golden age of aviation. As part of the process, the Strive team consulted with the BAE heritage team to ensure any artwork produced carried an authentic look and feel. The distinctive brand mark that reflects back on the site’s art deco origins incorporates the form of the most prolific plane produced on site, and the Humber Bridge.

The work undertaken by Strive, which included brand design, interior and exterior design, signage and wayfinding, marketing brochure design and artwork, as well as CGI and bespoke artwork, has been delivered within budget to excellent feedback, winning Wide Format Project at the British Sign Awards.
