Bonding Warehouse
Bringing an iconic building to life
The iconic Grade II listed Bonding Warehouse on the banks of the River Ouse in the centre of York was built in 1875 for the storage of dutiable goods when York was still a commercial port. It went on to be used exclusively by Rowntree’s for many years before being converted for restaurant use in the 1970s. In 2000 flooding saw the building fall into gradual dereliction. With developers keen to restore life into the historic premise Strive Group were tasked with creating appealing visualisations to help market the scheme.
Strive created a set of high-end marketing visuals for use as collateral in wider on and offline marketing campaigns. These were visualised to a specification with particular attention paid to the material finishes and feel of the space. Lighting techniques here were key and the warm and welcoming ambience was of utmost importance in making the spaces feel homely and creating a customer experience that appealed to the target market.
The visuals were used by the client as part of the very successful marketing campaign to let the spaces with the development winning several accolades and awards including BCO Best Refurbished/Recycled Workplace. It also attracted fresh business to the city centre, and is home to York’s first £1m penthouse.
